In need of a little guidance about a border run to Mac Bai

Post new topic

goofydad56

I'm new to the site here, haven't posted before.  I'm in need of a little guidance about a border run to Mac Bai, Cambodia, my passport expires on Tuesday.  Can anyone please contact me with "how to" information; or anyone interested on assisting out of HCM as a good neighbor or a reasonable gratuity?  Thank you in advance.

PS. please excuse typos, I'm old with thick fingers :)

I hope you mean your visa expires, not your passport! If it is your passport, then your country's consulate or embassy is the place for you, not a run to Cambodia.

If it's your visa, then I suggest, at this late date that you a) find out about your country's visa requirements for Cambodia and b) get an agent who will help you with your Vietnam visa application. The agent can really grease the skids and leave you for a smallish fee with all the paperwork done and hardly a finger lifted.

Good luck.

I apologize but I've rejected your contact request.

There's nothing I can do to help you.

Good Luck!

Hi there goofydad56

As stated by member Lennerd, if it is indeed regarding your passport you'll have no alternative but to reach out to the US consulate in Saigon.

If you meant to say that it is your eVisa which expires tomorrow, you should immediately arrange for transport to the Moc Bai, Vietnam - Bavet, Cambodia international border crossing (for either today or tomorrow, at the latest). Exit Vietnam there, and purchase a VOA (visa-on-arrival) at the adjoining Bavet, Cambodia immigration checkpoint. This VOA will permit you entry to Cambodia for 30 days (extendable), at a cost of $35 USD.

I caution you to not overstay your Vietnam eVisa's "Valid to" date. If you overstay, you will be refused an exit stamp at any of the land crossings, and will be directed to Tan Son Nhat int'l airport where you will be directed to purchase a flight out of Vietnam, and then to visit the immigration office with your boarding pass to pay your eVisa overstay fine. Only after your flight ticket has been purchased and your overstay fine settled, will you then be allowed to board your flight.

I'm sending you a PM now with the contact details of a trusted visa agent used by many other expat.com members. Questions regarding issuance/cost/timeline for your new eVisa allowing reentry to Vietnam would best be addressed with the agent.

You've not much time to delay. Best of luck, and please let the forum know of your experience(s) through this. We'd very much appreciate it.

The OP contacted me by PM. It was indeed their eVisa which will expire tomorrow, not their passport.

The member has opted to return to the US for a short spell, returning to VN in the near future.
