Sending parcels to Argentina

Hi all! Quick question: has anybody received any parcels from outside Argentina now that the customs laws in Argentina have allegedly been changed? I'd like to send someone a pair of sandals from Amazon directly to her in Buenos Aires. My friend keeps insisting that import policies have already changed but she is basing it solely on articles in the Argentine media. Let me know please in advance. And btw I'm sure most, if not all here already know this, but I have had some people tell me (outside this forum) that they have no problems receiving letters from outside Argentina, but letters are not parcels. Please advise, and thank you on advance!
