Manila - Sports Bars

Post new topic

I was just looking at the entertainment section on this Forum and saw a Sports Bar called Howzat in Manila.  Had a search on Google and from what I can see it is now closed down. Their last post on Facebook was in 2019. I did however find other similar establishments like Shooters Sports Bar & Mansions Sports Bar and just wondered if anybody had been to these or any other sports Bars.

Looking at the websites - it seems that they show all sort of sports including Premier League Football, NFL games, Cricket and even Darts (I myself do not consider darts to be a sport). The food looks good also with Indian curries and English breakfasts on the menu and I even found cider on the drinks list of one and cider was one thing I could not find the last time i was in Makati. Next time I am in the Philippines I think I will  visit one of these establishments, watch a little sport, have a good meal, game of pool and hopefully a couple of bottles of cider.

Would be nice to find a live sports bar to watch NFL playoff games.  Trouble is because of the 13 hour difference with US Eastern Time, the Superb Owl starts at 7:25 AM on a Monday in Manila.  Any sports bars open that early?

Check out Shooters Sports Bar, their website says open 24/7 and they are advertising the NFL Play Off Games.

Shooters Sports bar is a 3 minute walk from where you stayed CherryAnn (City Garden Grand Hotel) on Kalayaan Ave. Just passed the recently closed midget wrestling venue. On my last visit I stayed at the 'I'm Hotel' (opposite CGGH) and would occasionally take an early morning walk to Rockwell where I used to stay. The Power Plant Mall does not open until 11 so would have breakfast at the Starbucks opposite. Took me about 15 mins. Half way the pavements widen out and you are greeted by a beautiful palm tree lined avenue. I did drop in to Shooters bar once a few years back and the place was dead bar a couple of expats seated at the bar who also looked dead.

If I recall there were a couple of pool tables. Usually in these dives there is a sharpshooter Filipina wearing a tight dress wrapped around a gorgeous figure elevated on 4 inch heels. Not this time. Would I go there again? Yes if you paid me.
