Budget is around 2.5 million a  month. Can share room in house or self contained, anything considered. Cooking area required  if not in room . Any area within 10 km of D1 ok. Wheres the best place to look. Vietnamese sites are ok too. Thanks

Safe to assume your eVisa has been issued?

No. I gave up on that and came in on a  45 day visa.

Not sure I understand. There is no "45 day visa", of which I'm aware.

Your profile shows you as being Belgian. Is this correct?

Shouldn't be a problem.

Your toilet will be an empty 5 gallon paint bucket (bucket A) hopefully with a seat glued to the top.

There will be a toilet bowl without a seat or any flushing mechanism, but you'll quickly get the hang of emptying your toilet bucket (A) in there and then flushing it with a separate big bucket (B) of fresh water.

You'll have a water faucet that can quickly refill bucket (B) from which you can dip water in a big "cup" to shower yourself while standing over the drain.

"Cooktop" will be a board you lay over the top of the paint bucket, on which you can use a single induction "burner" that you supply.

Refrigerator will be whatever type of ice chest you bring with you.

No air conditioning but you might be able to talk the landlord into supplying an electric fan...except the LL might want an additional deposit for electric & water since foreigners are notorious for wasting utilities.

The 3" or 4" hard mattress on the floor should be comfortable enough for sleep, as long as you don't mind the odor in it (and the old blanket).

There will surely be places nearby where you can buy pillows & cases & sheets & towels, as well as bottled water.

You'll get used to washing yourself and your dishes in the same bathroom-sized sink, even though there's no real "bathroom" since everything is conveniently contained in one room.

It's amazing what ₫2.5 million VNĐ will get you in a single room in HCMC...

Why would we know what you mean since your profile says you are a Belgian citizen but Belgium is not on the list of countries that gets a 45-day Visa EXEMPTION?

What country's passport did you use to enter Vietnam and why did you list yourself as Belgian?

When we are answering questions for people we rely on the information that you provide...

General Stickler here.

Actually, I don't know what you mean. Those of us who have spent a bit of time here in Vietnam are keenly aware of the visa challenges and solutions available. OceanBeach and Aidan have been precise and helpful to many folk here.

Play nicely in this sandbox, the connections you make could be life savers.

Sincerely,

General Ima Stickler 😄
