Working under an incorrect visa

I’ve been navigating the challenges of working as an educator in the kingdom, but I’ve recently discovered a concerning issue: I’m on the wrong visa. Before I arrived, we were informed that we’d be placed on a different visa, supposedly following the proper procedures to ensure we could start in time for the new semester. Now that the first semester has wrapped up, I’m still waiting for my visa to be switched to a teaching visa.

To make things even more troubling, we were asked to sign backdated contracts that align with our current visa situation. This has raised serious legal concerns for me. You might wonder why we've remained silent about this; the truth is, our employer has significant connections in the kingdom, leaving us feeling powerless.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or assistance from anyone who might understand this situation better. Thank you!

Legally speaking, you shouldnt sign backdated contracts nor agree to work on a wrong visa. Once you have decided to do that and dont want to go to court, not sure what advice can be given here. Your only options are to either push the employer to correct the status or resign & leave or live with it or file a case in labor court about fake contract but I dont think you want to go that route.
