Vietnamese EVISA - passport page unclear (lack of icao information)

Hello Expats,

Can anyone please provide some insight on my issue. I submitted a vietnamese visa on the 13th of January. On the 15th of January I received an email stating that i need to provide full information for wherere I am staying in Hanoi. I realised that where it said 'enter vietnamese number' I entered my UK number and not the vietnamese hotel number. I updated and submited the application on the 15th of January. On the 20th of January they came back to me with an email saying that the 'passport page is unclear (lack of icao information)'. I rescanned my passport and submitted a clearer scan of the passport data page and also uploaded a copy of the passport page and the page opposite the data page, and also uploaded an actual photo of the data page.

Today onthe 23rd of January, I have received another email stating  'passport page is unclear (lack of icao information)'. I don't know what the issue is, and I am supposed to be travelling onthe 29th to Vietnam. I am now considering changing my flight to go somewhere else because I don't know how to resolve this and what else I can do. Can someone please tell me what I may be doing wrong?

For context you could see the corners of the passport as I know that is sometimes an issue. The photo page is very clear. So what is the issue? Please help? I really want to visit Vietnam but this my now be a barrier to that!

Hello jmak12, and welcome to the expat.com Vietnam forum.

The issue you are experiencing has been reported by many of our members. Please see post #385, here. Take a few moments to read onward from that post and things will soon become clear to you.

In any event, due to it now being the Tet holidays(link to thread titled, "WARNING re: Vietnam eVisa & Tết") with immigration offices now closed for the next 9 days, your hoped-for arrival date of Jan29th should not be expected.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
