Trump Tariffs Starts Saturday

Post new topic

Enzyte Bob

25% on Mexico & Canada

10% on China above & beyond existing tariffs

********************************

The tariffs on Mexico & Canada is to gain their co-operation on border security.

The tariffs on China is to control the chemicals used in Fentanyl. Everyone is concerned about the plane collision over the Potomac River & the loss of life.

Fentanyl kills the equivalent of a 747 plane load 5 days a week for a year.

Hello @Enzyte Bob,

Kindly note that your thread has been moved to this global forum since the topic is not related to the Philippines.

Musk will be bugged. See. Tesla exports from Canada to the US.

Is Trump taxing the oil?

Fred

Now we will have to consider US exports to Canada, tariffs placed on the, and will Canada simply switch to products from other countries.

I disagree with your decision to move it to the Global Forum. The Expat/Philippines has more US members than any other forum by far. We have been debating topics like this for months. It is related to US members of this forum.

You have opened this discussion far beyond the realms of our members and have brought interlopers who have no similar interests to Expats on this forum overall, but will have negative impact on this discussion.

Fred you just don't get the big picture, get informed.

So I will inform you:

The purpose of the tariff's is to get Canada and Mexico to comply with having security on the border. As to your beloved China to stop killing Americans by manufacturing chemicals for Fentanyl.

They will comply before any tariff's are paid.

You get it now?

Fred

Fred you just don't get the big picture, get informed.
So I will inform you:
BSBS BSBS
You get it now? - @Enzyte Bob

No, you don't.

Do you really think Canada will simply accept idiotic tariffs without retaliation?

Of course not.

Starting a trade war is clearly stupid and bad for everyone, but starting one against your biggest partners is out and out madness.

If your interested in protecting Americans, ban guns first.

Not  only you do not get the big picture, your comprehension is in doubt.

I said, the tariffs are a threat to Mexico & Canada. What we requested them to do is not unreasonable.

A threat, a threat, a threat. Comprende?

Trump ask Columbia to take back their criminals, Columbia refused. Trump threatened crushing tariffs and within hours Columbia relented. Columbia said please Mr. Trump, we are sorry, we will even use our planes to pick those criminals up.

So you see Fred, when we threaten tariffs on our friends such as Canada & Mexico,  China, N. Korea and Iran will get the message not to fool with Trump.

There will not be a trade war with Canada or Mexico, they will comply like Columbia.

Fred

I'm sure they will

The big problems Trump will face is people simply freezing out the US in favour of friendly markets.

Encase you haven't notice Trudeau resigned as Prime Minister. He went with hat in hand to Mar A Lago to meet with Trump. Prior to that Canada's Deputy Prime Minister & the Finance Minister resigned.

Polls show Trudeau's Liberal Party will lose to the Conservative Party in the upcoming election by a landslide.

All the Kings Horses

And all the King's men

Couldn't put Trudeau

Back in office again.

Perhaps you would like to think again... no, just think.

I see US industry based in Canada considering returning to the states, and Canada looking for new markets.

I see inflation rising in both countries, but the US becoming isolated and finding international trade difficult.

I find this very interesting. You start a thread to push your point of view but, when an opposing view appears, your reply is either insults or, "la la la, I'm not listening".

What's more interesting is the opposing view is being expressed by pretty much the whole world except team Trump.

Time will tell.

Now the EU

Will the  US end up isolated from world trade and, more importantly, will more countries ditch the Dollar.

The latter will crash the US economy.

US Expats all over the world will watch this one. If the Dollar slips because of Trump, a lot of expats will end up in poverty
