What's the situation in Da Nang for getting melatonin over the counter? Also, can European imported (not Chinese or similar) Extra virgin Olive oil be found, and typical prices for both, if anyone knows? Thanks.

Don't know about Da  Nang but when I was in HCM, I just went to any pharmacy and asked for melatonin. It was freely available without prescription a few years ago but it may have changed.  As for olive oil, I saw some imported ones at Bach Hoa Xanh (non-China).

The situation here in Đà Nẵng is that melatonin is usually ordered using the Lazada & Shopee apps.

You may find it in various pharmacies, but that method is hit & miss, so you'll want to become familiar with searching one of those apps.

if you have difficulty ordering through the app you can always have a Vietnamese friend or a landlord order for you.

You can find European olive oil via those two apps, but you'll also find some in the bigger stores here (Mega Market, Lotte Mart, Go! (Big C), Co-op Mart and the larger "W" (Winmart/Vinmart) stores such as at Vincom Plaza.

Olive oil also shows up at a number of foreign import stores listed on the Grab app (Grab Mart function).

So download & familiarize yourself with the Lazada, Shopee and Grab apps and you'll be way ahead of the game.

Prices are listed on the apps.

Both are easily gotten here on Phu Quoc Island, so I'm thinking that if they're available here you should have no problem in Da Nang.

Thanks for the info. I'll try to get to grips with the apps.

In the long run that's your best bet..

Otherwise you essentially find yourself asking people to do Google searches for you.

There are a few key apps here that help you be empowered in your day-to-day life.

Good luck!
