Maltese plate for camper outside Malta

Anna Carlsson

I would like to buy a camper, but the camper will not stay in Malta for a few years.

As a resident in Malta, I can not register the vehicle in another country.

What happens if I do not do the annual visit because the camper is in another country?

Can I circulate in >Europe without problems?

Would I receive some fines from TM?

What will happen the day I'm coming back with the camper to Malta?

Thanks

Your post makes no sense at all. Especially this...

"As a resident in Malta, I can not register the vehicle in another country."

So, start from the beginning. What do you wish to do? Tour Europe, EU, stay in a particular country?

As SimCityAT mentioned, you post is somewhat confusing. It may be best if you address your questions directly to Transport Malta on the following email:

info.tm@transport.gov.mt

There is some guidance on the TM website regarding the current procedure, but you stated the camper will not be in Malta for a few years, so may have changed by that time.

Yes , you are probably right. Let's try again.

I want to buy a camper and drive it around Europe for few years. I will leave the camper in some EU state and fly back home to Malta.

As I'm Maltese residents I can only apply for Maltese plate number.

The camper will travel around Europe without return to Malta for few years.

How can I do it legally?

Shul I received some fine because I will not be able to the annal check in Malta?

I dont know about this business of not being to apply for a registration in another country - we own a car in another EU country without problem.
