Moving to France

Abdulwahabkh4n

Hi everyone,

I’m new to the community and excited to connect with fellow expats! My name is Abdul Wahab khan and I’m planning to move from **Canada to France** (specifically Paris) to sponsor my wife and start a new chapter of our lives together.

As this is my first time navigating the French immigration process, I’d really appreciate your advice and guidance. Here’s my situation:

- I’m a Canadian citizen, and my wife  is his Pakistani nationality.

- My goal is to move to France, obtain a visa or residence permit, and sponsor my husband to join me.

- We’re planning to settle in Paris, so any tips on housing, paperwork, or local life would be amazing!

**My Questions:**

1. What’s the best way to start the process of sponsoring my wife !

2. What type of visa or residence permit should I apply for as the sponsor?

3. Are there specific documents or requirements I should prepare in advance?

4. Does anyone have experience with the **OFII** process or dealing with French immigration authorities?

5. Any tips for finding accommodation in Paris or adjusting to life there?

I’d be so grateful for any advice, personal experiences, or resources you can share. Thank you in advance for your support – I’m looking forward to being part of this amazing community!

Warm regards,

abdul Wahab khan
