Saudi Council of Engineers

Jubair Shareef

As-salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I would like to describe my situation first and then ask a few questions to ensure my next step, hoping to get proper guidance. InshaAllah.

Like many others, I faced the same issue when I first applied for Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership. My verification was initially stopped because my degree was not 5 years old. However, after writing emails and uploading the temporary form (which I mistakenly submitted as a blank document), I was fortunately verified. Now, I have received the certification and verification, but only for a period of one year.

My doubts:

    1.    Should I change my profession now?

    2.    Will my membership be renewed after one year?

    3.    I have the option to pay for the FE exam as my request has been processed. Will passing the exam grant me permanent membership?

Doubts regarding the FE exam:

I came across the exam schedule, which mentions:

    •    First period

    •    Second period

    •    Third period

I am unsure about how this works. Do I need to pass all three periods, or can I take the exam in any one of them?

Since the exam fee is quite high, I want to be sure before making the payment. I am not prepared at the moment, and the first period is on the 28th of this month.

If I make the payment now, will I be required to take the exam in the first period, or can I schedule my attempt for a later period, such as September?

Lastly, how should I prepare for the exam? I am a fresh 2024 Mechanical Engineering graduate who recently moved back to Jeddah after completing my education in India. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks & regards
