What does packing service include?

smit gort

I’m curious to hear from those who’ve used packing services before—what exactly is included? Does it cover everything from wrapping fragile items to packing up the kitchen? Any tips on what to expect or what might be an extra charge would be really helpful!

When we moved from Holland to the UK, we used Pickfords.  They packed everything, all glassware, ornaments, vases etc were wrapped in paper then in an appropriate cardboard box; clothes were put in an appropriate box/hanging wardrobe box).  They also put all the boxes in the appropriate room in our new house, then unpacked everything and took all the packagings away with them; they also came back a week or so later and removed the packagings from the stuff that couldn't be unpacked on the day.  That said, this was 25 years ago, and I chose the gold-label service (probably because my boss was paying for it, it's tax-deductible for them, don't be afraid to ask).  Bottom line is, you get what you ask/pay for.
