Any teachers just started with Education Experts?

Hi Dboyce,

I know the Saudi companies tend to move at a snail's pace, however I am just having kittens waiting for a month now for news about going for my medical from the last company I emailed you about. I  take it too that they do not view regular emails from teachers in a positive light as they may not view it as professional because of the fact that they are sooo busy. Never the less, what do you suggest I do in the mean time in order to prepare for my assignment? In view of the fact that my interviewer stated that I would travel at the end of this month to the beginning of the next? It is literally silence from them for over a week now. HELP!

dboyce

Hadn't heard of them.  They seem to be Australian.  The website looks snazzy enough but it's very new, and all 'stock' generic photos as far as I can see.

Are you female?  The company I am working for is actively recruiting female teachers for Saudi Arabia.

dboyce

I would distrust a language teaching website that has a heading "Business Oppertunity"

dboyce

dawnwallen, which company are you waiting to hear from? Adwaa Rabia, or Education Experts?  Have you paid any money to Adwaa Rabia?

Do not regard yourself as unprofessional in the slightest for continuing to email a company.  It is THEY who are unprofessional, for failing to communicate with you.

Who interviewed you, and where did the interview take place?

dawnwallen

Adwaarabia. Dr Cara was supposed to who I have seen on Linkdin, but we couldn't get a good skype connection, so Dr Jolly did instead via skype. Funnily enough I have just this minute received an email from Dr Cara apologising for the delay with the excuse of Eid etc. I really wanted to know if I will be travelling with other teachers, she has just responded that that all depends on the visa applications for the others when they come through, but is willing to put me in touch with other teachers. It's not that I am impatient, I just like to be kept in communicado.

Sounds like things are moving for you; that's great.  Hope it works out - please let us know how you get on.

I would agree and support any who wishes to pursue anyone connected with Education Experts London and their associates in KSA.
I have been waiting for my refund for over a year and half, J Wells, the so called director only replied once to my countless emails. Saying that the the company is having finacial difficulties, But will meet its obligations.

Reporting to the police and fraud authorities may prevent future situations like ours.

Muhsin001

i sorry about that
i have also got the same issue - its been over 8 months now!
even worse, £1000! due to me and my wife!
i feel helpless! i dont know what to do

dawnwallen

Yes I am female. When do they need teachers and how do I do it?

dboyce

Muhsin001, I'm sorry to hear that you are in the same position.  You and your wife are not the only couple who have paid £1000 to Education Experts as a couple.

I am afraid that there seems very little chance of getting your money back, because the two Companies, Education Experts London Ltd and Education Experts Company Ltd no longer exist.

The only thing that occurs to me now is to get the BBC consumer affairs programme Watchdog interested in doing a report on Education Experts and other dodgy TEFL companies.

I am sure we all appreciate that a company can fail despite the best efforts of its directors.  But none of us feel that the directors of Edex gave their best efforts.  And I think we would all be dismayed to think of Mr Wells, Mr Byles and Mr Bramble surfacing somewhere else in the TEFL field and taking more people's money.

Huntersbar

The small claim court is very slow and lengthy process, to be honest I'm not holding my breath, but I need more people to fight this with me.

I like the idea of the Watchdog but unfortunately I'm in Saudi now and cannot access the bbc.co.uk/watchdog, so if any of you still back home could you please raise the issue with them.

dboyce do you know where is about is J ? or any of the EdEx directors?

Mohsin82

dawnwallen, U may contact Mr. Jonathan Hill he is based in Riyadh KSA and runs a recruitment firm and actively recruiting for English language teachers

Thank you for your thoughts, and I feel sorry for you too and every body who have been through this type of experience with Education Experts.
Unfortunatly there little that can be done, since it was limited company.
Reporting to the right people will hopfully stop this type future events occuring (100%).
But I feel that the KSA side of the company should also accept some form of responsibility, for they are the ones who suppose to look after the teachers arriving in KSA via Education experts london.

Best regards

mojo1957

True I am not holding breath either, but would like someform of re-address, insomuch as that future events like this are better regulated or supported by the host country. the companies managing in the host country should also have responsibilty.
I dont know the right answer but there must something!

You have my support for persuing the case aganist J

Thanks guys for your support but we need actions.

I have already written to the BBC watchdog, but as I said before we should not be scared to ask for justice in a professional and legal manner, we can all talk and talk and write and write but we need to DO something, not jus for us and our individual situations but for those who could be future victims.

I have already written to the BBC watchdog, I have already logged a case with the UK Action Fraud, I have already gone through the Small Claim Court.

Maybe just Maybe if each one of us does the same we can put stop to these criminals. I urge you to at least write to BBC watchdog and UK Action Fraud, its free and will not cost you anything apart from couple of minutes of your precious time.

Hear hear, unfortunatly I am in China, but will try in some way to contact watch dog,
Hopfully others in similar situation in UK maybe in better position to persue to bring the matter to light.

I'm in similar situation to yours, I'm in Saudi Arabia, but still managed to email the watchdog guys, however, you can only email them with your issue, i.e. you cannot fill in the form from China or from outside the UK for that matter.

Looking through some documentation this evening, I looked again at the Receipt from Education Experts Co. Limited for my £500. It gives the bank details. It case it's of any interest to anyone:  Metro Bank 120 Cheapside London EC2V 7JB  Account No: 13839085  Sort Code 23-05-80.
I don't think this will really be of much help to anyone, since Education Experts Co. Limited was dissolved as a company.  But I guess it's a further bit of information, if anyone is thoroughly pursuing the matter.

dawnwallen

I don't think I informed you that a teacher who has been waiting three months to work for the same company as me flew out last week at the company's expense. So that was good news. He said the average waiting time is two and a half to three months. By the end of this month it will have been two months that I have been waiting. I hope it will be soon. I am teaching an Arabic lady here in England so I guess it is getting me used to it.

I think the generality of problems/delays in getting to KSA is perhaps for a different thread.

This thread is specifically about the personnel and companies formerly known as Education Experts, and how they took £500 from individuals (£1000 from couples) and how some people gave up jobs on the promise of work in KSA, and how Education Experts did not meet their obligations.  And the unlikelihood of getting any refund now that the two companies are dissolved.

Readers may like to know that Mr James Wells is still in the recruitment business for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia teaching jobs.
Check out Companies House information for  Global Teach Limited.  Company Number 09418199  Address 77 Timber Wharf, 240 Kingsland Road, London, London, United Kingdom, E2 8AT  The sole Director of the Company is Mr James Wells, appointed 3 February 2015.   www.globalteach.org.uk
According to a contributor elsewhere online, his Company now asks for £800 upfront.
The general advice given by those involved with teaching abroad, and by reputable recruitment agencies, is NOT to ever part with any money upfront.  Genuine companies making real job offers will not ask for money upfront.

How do you propose we get the money back? Simply supply the serious fraud office with the said details?
