When I first arrived I hired a car. Made a big difference. Whenever I start feel to feel bored I just hop in the car and to explore!

problem there my friend is that i can't hire a car without a saudi license and as soon as i get that there is a company car waiting for me....great idea though and thanks for the suggestion.

hamlay

You sure about that mate?
I hired cars for a couple of months until I got my Iqama.
..have used both Avis and Hanco no problems. have also hired using my international licence (permit from AA) and using my UK licence.

The only problem seems to be once you get your Iqama then the hire companies want to see a Saudi licence. If you show then your visa and tell them you don't have your iqama yet should be no problems.

Cheers.

yes i'm sure as my saudi partner whos company owns hanco was told no and my car is coming from them when i get my saudi license

hamlay

Oh well, you'll be itching to get your iqama then so you can get your licence.

Will make all the difference when you get your own set of wheels!
