I just wanted to say Hi! to everyone ! I just joined this forum which seems to be very interesting and well organised!

My pseudo is "Urielle", I was born in France, and live in Holland with my husband and children.
Life is great, it took me ages to get used to living in Holland as it does take time to get to know people, even when you speak their language, here!
but it is a very beautiful country, and, as everywhere else in the world, the further you live from the capital and cities, the friendlier and more relaxed people are.

In which part of Holland are you living in?

Yes I agree with you, the "further you live from cities, the friendlier and more relaxed people are" ...

About Spain, when foreign people come to Madrid, they think life is cool, relax and they could get rid of stress if they would live here ... but actually people are running in the tube, they do work long hours ... and they are stressed by life in a big city!

I must say that your site is very well organised and not just interesting, well done!
You must spend so much time working in this site, I am very glad I found this online community !

to reply to your question, Julien, I live near Leiden, in a small town just between The Hague and Amsterdam.

Yes, Amsterdam is a cool place with plenty to do, but I prefer the dutch countryside which is beautiful and more peaceful. My favourite places are in the south of the Netherlands, near Limburg ; the people are so relaxed there, and the east of the country with a lot of forests!

I enjoy being in Holland but, to my humble opinion, it is difficult to make friends, it might be because of the town I live in, which is a small and very boring one...

I used to live in England and although I had a few bad experiences there(which could have happened anywhere else, such as being robbed, having the flat broken into,...) I loved it there and found it very easy to socialise, but then again, it was far away from the capital city.

No, I have not got any blog yet, but I will probably write one in the near future.
