Hello,
I'll stay six months in Florida (Miami) for a language course.
I would like to buy a used bike to enjoy Florida. I sell it cheap at the end of my trip.
I do not know if as a non French resident, I have the right to buy a motorcycle and use it over there!:/:rolleyes:

Thank's you
Daniel.

Hello Daniel and welcome to Expat.com!

Have you gone through the different discussions on the forum? This may help.

Salut, Daniel!

Bien sûr. Tu peux bien acheter tous.

For riding a bike (bicycle), you don't need a permit.

But any motorized vehicle, you will need to register it (carte grise) with a proof of auto insurance and obtain an operator's license (permis de conduire). Please check out dmvflorida.org.

"Bike" in the U.S. can mean either "bicyclette/vélo (bicycle in English)" or "mobylette/scooter/vélomoteur" (motorcycle in English) or "cyclomoteur" (moped in English).

Which one are you buying?

Hi Prajna,
I want a motorcycle and not a bike.
I just changed my ad.
