Child care in Cancun

Post new topic

Armand

Hi,

when settling in a new country, working parents are mostly concerned about finding child care services for their children.

What can you share with us about the child care system in Cancun ?

How much is daycare in Cancun?

Is the staff qualified at these daycare centers?

What are the usual opening hours?

Do they provide other services at the daycare center?

Any daycare center in Cancun you would like to recommend to other expats? What makes them special?

Thank you for participating! :)

I live in Cancun and have a 2 year old son. He has been going to daycare for about 6 hours a day since he was 3 months old. So far I have had a great experience with daycare in Cancun. Prices range but I have found daycare to be very affordable. I pay 2000 pesos A MONTH (about 200 US Dollars) which is what most people pay PER WEEK in the US. I don't believe the staff normally has a childcare degree of any kind, but I have had nothing to complain about so far. They take good care of my son, he is happy to go and they even help with things like potty training and serve hearty, healthy (for the most part) food. They start teaching colors, letters and numbers very early. Hours vary but my son's daycare is open from 7am-9pm EVERYDAY and they are only closed two days a year...Christmas and New Year's. This is very important here as many parents work long hours in the hospitality business.

If anyone else has questions I would be happy to help. This is a very important issue. I have to know my son is safe and happy. His daycare center is called Baby Steps.

Hello,
I'm glad you have had a good experience with this, I am in the process of finding a place to put my daughter for 4 - 5 hrs a day.  I am wondering if you could tell me more information about daycares, schools and such.  Please email me when you have time!  Thanks
Jo
