Hello everyone,

I recently moved in England for a 6 months period.

I'm planning to buy a small TV to get more comfortable, and bring it with me in France back home with me. Can somebody tell me if there are any incompatibilities by buying a TV in the Uk, will it work when in france?

Hi stephane,

I can't see why a UK television wouldn't work in France... The only problem is the plug, you'll need an adaptator.

I used to work with a uk laptop in France, Spain ... I only needed the power plus adaptator

Thank you very much for your response, my only concerns are the tv channels. If the tv is set up tu have full reception of UK channels, will I be able to reconfigure the tv to get the french channels?

No, it won't work!!
UK TV uses the PAL system, France uses SECAM. They are incompatable.
(The only way I can think of is to use Sky only - in both countries).

Yes that is correct. I had the same problem in Italy although some TVs allow you to change the system, worth checking.
