Hi,
We are looking for other Scandinavian families in Montreal. We are a Danis-Quebec couple with 2 children.
Hope to hear from you!

Hello Danqc and welcome to Expat.com!

A little introduction maybe?
This will let other members know you.;)

Well, OK.

We met in Montreal and left for France for many years. We came back 4 years ago. We also lived in London for a year and tried Copenhagen without much success.
Our 2 girls were born in France and are today 15 and 9.

I work in econophysics and my wife is in charge of an art venue.

Our goal here is to find some Scandinavian families to share a cultural heritage with our kids.

Are there any Scandinavians on the forum? We hope so!

Hi!!  I am also looking for Scandinavian families :)  i am Australian but my husband is Swedish (he will tell you he's Norwegian but its just his passport ;))

Our kids are a little younger than yours...Isabelle is 4 and Aleksander is 3months.

I speak relatively fluent Swedish and we are keen to preserve Erik's Swedish heritage no matter where we live.

Edit: ooh i just realised how old this post is...though Im still keen to find other Scandinavians :)

Hello,
We are a Finnish/French couple. We have an almost 3 year old boy and arrived to Montreal in September.
We are also interested in meeting scandinavian people!!:)

Danqc

Hello to both of you.
Sorry, we have not been very active here. But we are organizing a Glogg party next Saturday (Dec.22). It would be great if you could come.
We are in Laval.

:(  unfortunately we have plans already for that weekend - perhaps another time.

We were at IKEA today to do our Christmas food shopping :P  does anyone know of anywhere else that sells the right stuff for a Julbord?

Where did you get the glogg?

Marttta

Hi!

Jasmine & Jorgen, unfortunately, we neither are available next week-end...we could find another time to organize something!

For the Christmas buffet, everything can be done quite easily. I can give you some recipes Tjejen, even for the glogg (and it's usually better than the products you can buy).

Otherwise, do you know scandinavian communities in Montreal? Or some associations that offer activities, or restaurants, shops...(other than Ikea ;) ) ?
For example, we go to the Finnish community center, where they have activities in Finnish language for small children. But that's actually the only scandinavian thing I found here.

Anyway, have all a nice christmas holiday!

Danqc

Hi again. We will be making our own glogg, aebleskiver and klejner. I have not found a danish or scandinavian club around. It is not like on the Riviera where the Scandinavians are abundant! Sun, sea and sand...

Let's try another time to meet...

Jasmine
