Hello,
I have just recently moved to Nairobi. My apartment didn't come with any basic kitchen supplies (utensils, cookware, plate/bowls), some basic furniture (side tables/coffee tables) and linens. I'm looking to furnish my apartment on a budget. If you or someone you know is moving or has spare gently used home furnishings they are looking to sell or give away for free, please reply to this post.

HI, i dont know any such kind of people but last time when we were searching for some furniture in nairobi, we found near Ngong road there are many furniture stores and for cheaper. Hoep this could help you. i will get back to you in detail, later, coz i too dont know, my friend knows it better...

Try any of the large Nakumatt supermarkets, they sell everything that you are looking for. Their furniture is imported and not the best quality. Personally I would be looking for some solidly built and locally made furniture. As previously posted, you can try those stores on Ngong Road, but quality can be variable. We bought most of our furniture from Odds and Ends on Mombasa Road - not the cheapest, but high quality and very very durable. There are other furniture makers around.
