hi, If your budget is 1000 to 2000 rg it may be a bit low for the golden triangle, However you can find great places in ampang point, or cheras, it is a good idea to find a place near an LRT if you do not drive, if you do drive than it is much easier just be careful of traffic , it is terrible in Jalan ampang and Jalan tun razak and bukit bintang ...
basically everythere....
take your time and visit iproperty, you can see the prices in different areas in Kl. It should give you an idea on where you can move.

Let me echo the "get a place fairly close to the LRT" (Light Rail Transit), even if it's a bus ride to the station.

Save yourself money, time and incredible hassle.
