Where do you live? I want to teach in Italy within the next year. But I don't know Italian. Also...where is the best place for an Afro-American to live and work?

Hello
There are good possibilities in Florence and Tuscany if you are quite elastic and for example specialise in teaching english to kids (from 4 years old up).
For Italian language, we can help you with very affordable group courses...

Thanks for the reply. I have taught 2-7th graders for the past 13 years. I am completing my doctorate in a year and wanted to teach at the university level...if  possible.

I want to retire in about 5 years and just enjoy living abroad.

I think that big cities give more opportunity and services.
Maybe Milan or Rome could be a starter point? At least as a beginning.

Shibalba

I have forgotten to mention that I live near Milan.
I know that many private school are searching for Eglish mothertongue teachers.

Shiree

Thanks Shibalba...

Is there a contact list? I know the search for employment there is quite a bit early...

Are there any universities searching for American teachers? I'll keep looking. Thanks

Shibalba

Actually I don't have any list, but I think you can easily use those internet site
bakeka.it
kijiji.it
milano.vivastreet.it
that have some announcement about private school searching for english mathertongue teacher.
You can also try with public Universities but I don't really know how to apply in this case.

Shiree

Thanks for the info...I will check them out.
