Hello everyone,
I have moved to Shibata, Japan, which is close to Sendai.
I have been trying to get access the social security website for over a month thru google and yahoo with no luck.  Has anyone else had this problem and can you offer any tips on how to access this website?
Hoping to hear some good news from someone.

Aloha,
Chris:)

Are you referring to the U.S. social security website (www.ssa.gov), or the Social Insurance Agency (SIA) site in Japan?
http://www.sia.go.jp/e/

I just tried the former and timed out trying to access the site. Here is a text-only listing of its contents, for what it's worth.

Kumamon

Yeah, I can't login from Kumamoto either.  I'm beginning to suspect they don't allow access from computers with IP addresses outside the USA....

If you want to have your check deposited in a bank here in Japan, go to the U.S. Consulate website and contact them.  They were very quick and called me and then sent me paperwork to fill out and send back to them.  They took care of everything for me and it took about a month.  I even got a confirmation letter from social security confirming the change.
Hope this helps
