Hi,

can a foreigner buy property in Saint Kitts and Nevis?

If so, is it complicated? What is the process of purchasing a property in Saint Kitts and Nevis?

Any tips for buying property, such as a check-list of items to verify ?

Hi Christine: It's not difficult to by property in the Federation but I strongly urge you use a profressional realtor. Laws and taxes are different here and unless you work with someone in the 'know' you could have an unpleasant experience. I moved here from Canada almost 10 years ago and had I known then what I know now, I would not have been so quick to buy/build. I would have rented until I was sure exactly where I wanted to live and what I wanted to own. As a result I have a huge house that is a total waste as I spend all my time on the verandas while my 25 by 25 ft greatroom is never used. I would have built the verandas larger and not had the living room. Pato
