Hi,

I am working for an Irish company in Brussels. I am paying tax locally here in Belgium but no social security.

I have been seeing a physio for a few weeks and was wondering does anyone know if i can claim back these expenses through my E111 card ? If so how do I claim them back..

I also have to go for a surgical procedure in a few months and am not sure if I will end up paying alot for it or if it will be covered on the E111?

Does anyone have an experience in a similar situation?

Thanks

You may have to take out insureance i had to work here from UK However if you have atlest travel insureance and ur E11 it may cover it all

You should have joined a Mutuelle when you arrived in Belgium, bringing with you form S1 showing your social security contributions are being paid in Ireland. The EHIC card only covers treatment for temporary visits, not for people working and living in Belgium. I fear you will not be able to claim back anything you have already paid for. If you join a mutuelle, you will have a small monthly fee to pay, you will covered from the beginning to refunds for "compulsory" treatments, after 6 months for "complementary" treatments.
