Hi to all friends out there,
Would like to ask of your kind opinion regards to my salary package if it is sensible.
Was offered a position as a full time math teacher for a private institution. Here is the package being offered:

- 5,000 dhs ( during probation ) - include shared accommodation and travel expenses
- 5,500 dhs ( after probation )
- Two return airfare for only 2 years though contract is 3 years
- Gratuity is only 10%

Not nearly enough or fair.
It says something about the school- not a lot...........

For comparison ADEC (Abu Dhabi Education Council) start at 13000, flights, health insurance, good accomodation and AED 20000 settling in allowance.

In contrast if you were an Emiratie teacher you would be paid as much as 3 times that amount and most probably have a much reduced work load. (ie a third the load!)
Emiratie teachers have just had a massive salary increase from the Ruler which is guaranteed to widen the gap and bad feelings between expats and locals unfortunately.

If you are qualified and from a native English speaking country why not apply to ADEC perhaps?
