Extending a 3mo visa

Post new topic

elyse256

Hello,

My company has finally send my invitation, but instead of stating the full first year that we agreed upon it only states 3 months.  They told me that when I arrive they will extend it to the full year.  Is this typical procedure?  If so, is it an easy process?  Or do I need to worry that something could still go wrong with the visa process?

Thanks,
Jeanette

I've heard of this before, and I think it's rather normal.
I think once you get there, they will extend it.
But I completely agree that it's a little frustrating since you will be in a foreign country and not sure what to expect or what the normal procedures are.
But I will also be applying for a work visa, and I hope they allow me to stay more than 3 months. I will probably be in the same situation as you.
