Hi
I see that there is a business directory but it's hardly overflowing with contact numbers. I suggest we make better use of it because we can recommend businesses and that would make it much easier when you are looking for a contact, for example a dentist in Tamarin, or whatever.
What do you think?

I have tried to make use of the classified section twice.  I have noticed other members will list villas, laptops, cell phones, etc.  So the first time I listed some holiday bungalows for sale.  I later got an email saying the advert didn't follow the site's rules.  I thought that was odd when all I did was fill in the blanks they provided.  So the other day I tried it again and listed a ghd hair straightener and yesterday i received an email today saying that I need to register my business  in the business directory.  I would if I had a business.  But I'm just an expat member of this site, and would like to list some items in the classified section like other members have.

Hi Jim Haines!

Could you please repost your ads for review ?
We shall then inform on what went wrong.

Thanks
Armand

Hi Jim
Thanks for your post. I'm not talking about the classified section but I guess you are pointing out that  because it doesn't work that well, or that it didn't work for you when you tried to use it.
I'm talking about the business directory and recommending a business,as an individual.
I live in Tamarin and I have a comprehensive list of businesses, recommended by other expats. I thought I would share this with others. However, if it is too much of a problem,as you suggest, I don't think I'll bother.
Really, when an ex-pat moves to a country there are certain questions they want answering, for example, how do I do such and such but the main things an ex-pat seeks are contact details and recommendations.
What do you, or anyone else reading this, think?

Julien, I am glad you agree. A site about living somewhere is only as good as the information it contains. I think this site is a good site but it needs the help of the members, as well as the employees/and founder to improve it.

Julien

not as costly as it already is!

Are you sure there isn't a free mode too ? come on !

Julien

I guess there is a little misunderstanding ... we're talking about the Expat.com Mauritius business directory

Julien

please have a look to the buttons on the directory pages

Dear Admin,

I have just submitted again in the classifieds for your review.  It is the one about the "3 Bungalows w/Pool".  I hope you find it satisfactory to publish.

Thanks, Jim.
