Hi ho,

The family and I have moved to Catalunya Spain, the birthplace of my husband after spending three years on a small sailboat. 

I am not sure if I have got the point of this site accurately, I thought it was a place to find other bloggers.....hmmmmmmmm.

where I post about what it is like living in a new country, learning the languages and the customs...and lots of other odd rambling bits tossed in.


That's about all for now, I will go and look around more of this site.  It isn't quite what I expected before I logged in.  SHould be cool.

I take it you are not from Barcelona?  Where in Catalonia are you from?  Like that topic a lot.

I am from Perpignan, the french side of Catalunya.

I spent a few months in BCN ... and I really, really like this city. I hope I'll settle down over there one day :)

So your bi-lingual...I assume you went to school in French..do you speak Castillian at all, or are you like my husband and one of the few Catalans who cannot?

Well actually, I perfectly understand Catalan but I can't talk in that language ... always mix it with Spanish, which is not really appreciated :/

I'll get language courses if I go back to BCN one day!

Actually, in Barcelona and even in this smaller town, most people mix it...it is difficult for my husband because he cannot speak Castillian, he's going along understanding them, and then he's not.  I do better with Catalans speaking Castillian than with true Castillians...I understand the Catalan accent better.  Your still a step or five ahead of me if you understand it.  I have had some exciting moments...banking is fun for one, interviews with the teachers, homework, on and on
