V-Day things?

Post new topic

LegendaryKTC

Hey everyone! So I'm trying to get a good idea of what a guy to do to celebrate his newfound friendships in Riyadh. I said I would do something for my friends for V-Day but I'm still having a hard time thinking of what I can do for them. I could always do dinner and give them small gifts but I have no idea of what restaurant to choose and whatnot.

Any suggestions? Thank you. :)

Wilson

Try Chili's :top:

That is correct - apparently something along the lines of improperly stored meat.  Last week when I drove by the place was still closed.

RedGoblin

Well.. If the party is smallish, invite them over to your place.

do you celebrate V-Day here in Saudi?

It is a foreigner asking this question about celebrating because V-Day is NOT celebrated here.

In fact, it makes the mutawa somewhat rabid!  They 'raid' stores selling anything valentine related ... and for God's sake, don't wear red!

I Cannot Stop Laughing !!! :lol::lol::lol:

oh gosh Chilli's

LegendaryKTC

Haha, it is a little risky to try and do anything special for V-Day. I say they are worth it so I'll probably just do dinner and have small gifts for them. :) I wish I could bring them to my place if it wasn't a hotel.

I just need a good idea for dinner....other than Chili's, apparently. lol

Apparently

Okay, MY favorite place is a Chinese restaurant called Mirage.  It's across from Euromarche.  It's a bit pricey but just stunningly beautiful inside ... I love that place :)

LegendaryKTC

Chinese food? I hope it's better than Golden Palace. XD Just kidding, it's not bad. :)

What's the price range?

Well, last time I was there 4 of us went and we had the apps, main course, side dishes, desert and 'saudi champagne' and the cost was 575 SAR.

If you cut out all the extras, however, it can be reasonable.  It's good food but mostly you're paying for the atmosphere, I think (but the atmosphere is wonderful!).

If you want a place that's good food, nice atmosphere and very cheap prices, go to Assriyah Turkish restaurant located on Talateen St.

LegendaryKTC

Awesome! Thank you very much, Alliecat! :D

If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm happy to still hear them. :)

Since when V-day was Related to the Food and having food ???

Do you mean V-day as Voracious day for gluttonous consumer of fine foods......:lol::lol:

LegendaryKTC

lol, Nothing wrong with being off-topic....or being a gluttonous consumer of foods. :P

I just want to do something nice for my friends is all. I don't have much here so it's the least I can do as a token of friendship. :)
