Hello adventurous Expats!!

I worked in China last summer as a consultant intern after completing my MBA in the US. I loved the experience working outside of the US and I am dying to work as an Expat again. Does anyone know where I find the highly sought after Expat jobs? The last position was a result of meeting a gentleman at a business dinner. I speak basic Mandarin (I learned in the two months I was there) and Spanish. I would prefer something in Asia, Australia, or South America. I've got 7 years of management experience in retail, 1 year with healthcare marketing, 1 year as a recruiter, and 1 year as a PR Director. I am gregarious, sapient, loquacious, and love a challenge.

Welcome cilla205,

The very first thing to do would be to choose a destination ;)

Wow that's an interresting program ... (Mine would be: USA Canada Japan Australia NZ Argentina China ... and many others)

Have you checked out the blogs in your different destinations in the directory?

Welcome to the site. Have you been to many other counties as well?

Julien- Interesting choices of countries. I would think that with the economic trends of the US, it wouldn't be the first on the list. :) I can say from experience (and I have lived in 7 of the states and traveled to nearly all of them) that it isn't as exciting to live here as it is to visit. Paris- now that would be an exciting city.

I have looked at the blogs briefly, not thoroughly. They seem to be experiences and anecdotes about the local culture. I have contacted a few Expats inquiring about the process they went through to secure their positions, and I hope some great suggestions will come of that.

Invader_Stu- Thanks for the welcome! I have been through Canada (I lived in Alaska for several years, and frequently drove through parts of Canada), Thailand, South Korea, and China.  Best vacation destination- Phuket, Thailand. Best shopping destination- Shanghai, China (I found Beijing and Bangkok overpriced. LOL). My next expedition is going to be through Australia- looking forward to that. Where have you traveled to?

According to you where are the best economic trends?

Hmmm, I like to look at not only the growth, but also what I consider to be the potential of the country. The US is, and has been, in economic decline- we have a false economy, propped up by foreign nations. We are, in essence, owned by Japan and China. I would prefer to invest my career into a country with a brighter future.

Countries with the most potential that I would willingly relocate to - I would say the majority are in Asia. China, South Korea and Japan. China has the most potential, although there is considerable controversy surrounding the RMB.
