Just dropped by to say hello. I'm originally from California but moved to Sweden about a year and a half ago as a love immigrant. Before that I lived/worked in Japan. I'm now working as a part-time English teacher at several local high schools here in Uddevalla, Sweden.

I really want to visit Sweden sometime.  Any recommendations?
Many Germans I have met really love Sweden.  My husband and I joke that it's kind of a national obsession, although I don't think it really is...but we had a few strong early examples of Sweden-obsessed Germans that influenced our views :)

Heidelbergerin, there are many nice places to visit here in Sweden. I live at the tip of Bohuslan which is fairly close to the Sweden-Norway border and about 90 km north of the harbor city of Gothenberg (Göteborg). I love visiting Gothenberg. It is a beautiful big city with an old-world feeling to it. Oslo, Norway is also worth seeing and of course the capital city Stockholm. There you can see the Nobel banquet hall and the royal residence, as well as visit the ABBA Museum. :)

The phenomenon of the Sweden-obsessed Germans might actually be true. During the summer months we get a lot of German tourists sailing the Swedish fjords. Also my Swedish boyfriend is one quarter German. His paternal grandmother and the rest of her family fled Germany during the WWII and settled in the Gothenberg area.
