Hey there

Thanks alot for that. I heard that Kengeles in Lavington might be running something too. Ever hear of that?

Hmm..Kengele's Lavington is a lovely bar and round the corner from me hence minimum staggering distance :) will pass by on my way home today and find out and post right back here.

A friend of mine from Ireland who lived here for two years sent me a mail saying 'I presume you will be in kengeles for Patricks Day?' so that's where I got it. She said she's been there last two years and its great. I tried calling them but always engaged. Carnivore is a charity fundraiser and they seem to be selling it really hard so I'm not sure how much of an Irish feel there will be to it.

I live close to YaYa myself so I think Lavington is close too....pretty new here so still finding my feet

Lavington is not far from Yaya at all- if you're cabbing it don't pay more than 500 one way, in fact, see if you can get away with Ksh 300 :)
I'm all for charity but the 2k at Carnivore is a bit on the higher side for me right now.(That's like 8 beers right there) I'll find out if Kengeles will have a cover charge tonight but i somehow doubt it.
The bar has a good mix of locals and expats and is more of a home pub for people who live in the general area. Their food's reasonably priced as well.
Feel free to ask for help if you need any other pointers for settling in this green city in the sun :)

Aw that's very kind thanks. Alas I'm transient so only here for 10 weeks but I do intend to explore as much as possible so open to all suggestions. :-) Probably best to be discussed over a 'couple' of beers tomorrow night !!

I totally agree :) Beer and Rugby.
