A nice cheap place in asia

Hi all,

Been living down here in South America for a year and thnking about a change of scenery, looking at asia. Where would be good for a 25 year old guy to live, not too much a fan of big cities, enjoy the simple life etc. Looking at a budget of around US$500 a month.

Dont need many creature comforts after living in brazil, so dont need aircon.

Well I'm heading to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in September to study the language and everything I've seen suggests that it's a small city, simple and cheap to live in. Most currencies have a very favorable exchange rate as of right now. The main drawback is the bitter cold in the winter. But I'm looking forward to it.
