New in Addis - Need some help

Post new topic

ZZ21

Hi! I am moving to Addis very soon and need help on the following questions.

- What are the things I have to bring that I can't find in Addis? I heard that there is not much good places to shop and not much of imported products. If you can please recommend where to shop or any shopping place for imported products.

-Are there specific vaccines required before arriving to Addis specially being first time in the country?

-Is there a filipino community in Addis Ababa?

Thank you!

Hi!
I'm indonesian who have been in addis since one year ago. so maybe i can give some opinion.
- In Addis Ababa there are some supermarkets that provide import thingy (Bambis, shoa, novis, fantu), but the problem is the thingy often disappear in the some time in unpredictable. so i give you tip: you should make a stock for daily needs.
Besides, I suggest you to bring personal needs (clothing, medicines, cooking spices typical of your country, etc).

- Before i came here, i got yellow fever vaccination. Addis Ababa immigration airport sometimes ask us to show your yellow fever card.

- As far as i know, there are a lot of Filipinos here in Addis Ababa. I have a few friends of Filipinos, among others who work for NGOs, married to an Indonesian, etc..

Regards,

Ade
