self employment / sales rep ?

Hello would any one know any info about working as a rep in Malaysia . Was looking into being a sales rep for company from US , they only do catalog sales and would not have an office in Malaysia . My job would be to get dealers already set up in Malaysia to purchase product from them and it would be shipped direct to the dealers . I would be an independent rep and getting my commissions paid in the US not in Malaysia . My wife has a working Visa and I have a dependent Visa. not sure how to set this up there in regards to work permit / tax purposes ect.. Thanks
