I would like to bring this one up again. I have the same question as I'll be moving there (bachelor status) in about a month's time (early March).

Any insight would be most helpful.

There is more life on Mars. I'm serious. There are a few expats about due to the shore bases but as far as a social life goes, forget it.

Thanks guys. Looks like I'd better bring something with me to do for the year. I will suspect that with all the beaches in the area there must be something to do.
