Pakhar storm yesterday

I am sure you experienced the storm yesterday.

It was an unusual storm in two aspects: it happened early (first time in 30 years a storm lands in Vietnam in beginning of March) AND it landed in South Vietnam (had not happened for a long time).

The fact that a storm has not been in Saigon a long time shows its effect: even the wind was only measured 5-6 on the Beaufort scale (at max strong breeze, even not a gale), it upended over 200 trees only in SGN. The city had over 200 people working all night to help, yet the effects were still visible all over the city even late in the afternoon.

I saw no less than 20 big trees (and countless small trees(<5m)uprooted. In Hoàng Văn Thụ park, trees hundreds years old were lying around. Two of them blocking the entire road which is at least 20-30 meters wide.

The tennis courts I played looked like a battlefield: fences askew, walls fell over, trees and branches everywhere. Coupled with the helicopters sound at nearby landing strips, it looked like a scene from the Apocalypse :/

Yeah it was scary stuff last night! I was travelling from Go Vap to District 1 for a gig and saw so many upended trees and debris.

The roof of the school I teach at also caved in.. pretty bad.

I hope no one was hurt in it all!

I get it. He has warned me several times: "Son, if you continue to associate yourself with that little devil down south in Can Tho, next time it is going to be serious." Who are you really man to make him so mad at me!!

Wild_1

Anatta,

You got it all wrong...  It was supposed to be "the little ANGEL" :gloria and all were destined to be "good"... :top:

What have you been reading???

Anatta

"And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light." (2 Corinthians 11:14)

Thank you my Lord for your pertinent words. Amen :thanks:

Wild_1

Anatta,

Why are you shifting all the blames toward me?  I didn't do anything wrong; I didn't even see a storm...  Hey, man, I highly suggest that you go do some serious soul searching, my friend.  :sosad:

Good luck,
:gloria

I am all good if someone address me as an idiot...

Howie

Saw your writing on the other thread.
I heard the expression 'idiot savant' before, but I didn't know the expression 'idiot satan' until now. :D

For others, some pics today about the situation 2 days after the storm

Don't even bother to go on that link guys...

It is really bad...  Total carnage!  :thanks:  I didn't even know the Almighty was that upset at, you know who.  Bad, bad...

Also, according to the article: Max wind speed measured 14 m/s (scale 7 Beaufort), which for those who have seen real storm is nothing but a baby's breath.
During the last 100 years, there has only been 4 storms landing in Saigon:
1904, 1996 (Ernie), 2006 (Durian) and this one.
However, they said that due to changing weather conditions, similar or stronger storms may land in SGN again soon (OK, OK. I'll cut my ties with that devil soon, my Lord. I promise).

1904, 1996 (Ernie), 2006 (Durian)

2012 (Anatta).

How did you forget about this one???  :dumbom:

I think Howie's in the oats this afternoon.

Budman1,

I am not!  As a matter of fact, your pupil, Anatta, is the one.

He is deep, very deep into it...

Anatta

Come your nitwit. Sorry, should I say "come on your idiot??" :)

Everybody knows that you have to name the storms after alphabetical order, so if you insist on a new name, it has to start with a P, so an appropriate name has to be "Prince of Darkness, aka Satan" :Phttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_t … lone_names

Dear Master
Howie is just his usual self, just so you know, so I am showing him deep compassion for him, but as you see, the Satan is hopelessly beyond repair.

Is there a full moon tonight??

Are you suspecting that he will transform into a wolf tonight?
