Hi all...

wonder if you can help, how far/how long journey from slipi to BIS daily school run hour?

Cheers

Armand

Hi lakeland and welcome to the forum.

An introduction maybe?

Regards
Armand

Fred

At school run time; ouch.
Depends how lucky you are but can be 2 hours plus. School will start at 7 so, if you set off at 5 to 5.30, you should be fine.
Coming home will be rough. Expect well over two hours.

An option is get on the train at Palmerah, off at Jombang and a taxi from there. 30 minutes, maybe 40.

Thank you armand and mas fred,

sorry didnt introduce myself as new member and im still not quite sure with the webs itself,(first time user)

iam an indo (yogyakarta)married brits but havent been living in indo since 1995. Not familiar with jakarta area too..

Not sure about 4 hrs journey everyday especially with my youngest daughter only 4yrs old.

Thanks again mas fred.

Fred

One rule in Jakarta.
live as close as you can to where you travel most.
There are a couple of new estates a few mimutes walk from BIS.

ichini

I live not really far from BIS and i works at wisma 77 slipi.
it took me about 40 minutes by motorcycle.

if by cars, may be it will took longer, around 1 untill 1.5 hours.
since you know, jakarta traffic is quite mess :D.

and like mas fred said, better if you stay around BIS, bintaro is a good environment to stay :)

Fred

Motorcycles are fine for the experienced or very lucky.
A foreigner coming to Indonesia from a western country shouldn't consider a motorbike at first.
Rules of the road go like this:

I'm first - beeps horn
I want to be first - beeps horn
I'm going to be first - beeps horn
What does that red light mean? - beeps horn.

agreed with fred...  beautiful traffic isnt it ?hehehe
