Ivela,

You can't immigrate to France and expect to work if you don't get a work permit. To get a work permit, you must prove that you can do something no one else in France can do.

Normally, one needs to get hired on by a company located in France who will vouch for you to the gov't. So that's probably where you should start, is getting hired on by a company that's got an office in France or a French branch.

If you plan on immigrating without working papers, be aware that the gov't has been cracking down on most businesses that traditionally employ illegal workers; restaurants, clubs, bars, construction, etc. It's much less easy to work like this than several years ago.

If you are coming to study, that's easier. You can get a student visa as long as you are accepted by a French university or another school located in France. But of course, you won't legally be able to work.

This sounds discouraging, but France is as hard to immigrate to as is the US.

the last post is ok except that students can work for half a journey legally.
