How do I find a place to live?

Hi Everyone,
I have been googling apartments for rent in Perth and it seems like there is a lack of apartments on the market for rent. Or maybe I am just looking in the wrong place. Here in Canada we have Craigs list, is there an equivalent website to this in Australia?

There are a few websites in Aus to help with this

perth.gumtree.com.au/ - Gumtree Perth
perth.craigslist.com.au/ - Craigs List

I haven't lived in Perth, but in Sydney Gumtree was the place to go.

Is there a specific area you are looking at? I would suggest if you have the time, visit the suburb you are interested in and look at the real estate agencies in the suburb.

If you have no time, then realestate.com.au is the next option, alternatively, trying searching from The West paper, there's plenty of ads.
