But as I said, has anyone did a full circle in 30 days, Quito, 1 day, to Banos, several days, to Tena a few days down to Loja then up to Puerto Lopez, what is the best path back to Quito for departure and is this adquate time, I realize it is where I stop but I know little Spanish and would like a some kind of a plan if possible, or should I just make a base and explore from there ? I am packaging it. Solo.
Gracious again, hope to here asap, yes I understand manana, manaman, but it just sees either I don't under stand the expat exchange, as I have not received a response. I am retired military and have a small pension, so this is just not a whim or a gig.
Gracious,
Ann

Are you looking for information regarding backpacking the loop around Ecuador as you have laid out? My wife and I are going to Ecuador next week and are traveling to some of the areas you are asking about and will be staying with a number of expats in different areas if you would like me to do a recon for info. Let me know. I am a retired Marine and I am also a backpacker (well, in re-training since my stroke anyways). Let me know if you are interested. I understand your financial situation being a retiree from the Corps so I will keep my search to my income availability and it should work for you as well. Hit me up and we can talk details.
