Cold Sores in Puerto Rico

Post new topic

hydr0

Im planning to move to Puerto Rico from Europe, but i have a cold sore( not active atm, but i get them sometimes). Is that true that i cannot marry or get a job with this condition or get discriminated by others ? Is that true that seeing someone with cold sore is rare over there and the statement that 90% of the population has it doesnt apply to Puerto Rico? I wouldnt want to transmit it to someone else and then that person gets problematic side effects because this virus is not common in your area.Lets say if a poerto rican drinks from the same cup as me and gets infected, can he develop some serious conditions just from a cold sore? Im really confused, i would like to know about your perpective on cold sores.

We're moving WHERE?

First of all, PuertoRico is USA territory and all health laws are the same. I don't Know what you mean by people discriminate against cold sores? We have anti discrimination laws against most illness or deformities.  You need to check with US embassy not a blog.

Cold sores are universal. People get them here in PR also. Don't worry about it. Coming from Europe my guess is that your concepts and concerns are considerably different than those of us that are familiar with how things work in the states and here. There is nothing wrong with posting your question on this blog. For you it is a legitimate concern. I for one appreciate your concern for how it may effect others. Please feel free to keep posting and I will try to answer ANY questions and address any concerns you might have.
What do you know about Puerto Rico? Have you ever been here before? What reasons do you have for choosing this Island? Give us all some information to start a conversation and I know there are some very nice and helpful people on this blog that will offer sound advice and solid answers to your questions.
