Why so many barbers in Riyadh?

There seems to be a lot more barbers here than they need. Any good reason for this?

This bit of information may astound you as much as it astounded me: Saudi men go to the barber to be SHAVED. Once or maybe twice a week.

Also, the culture frowns upon long-ish hair on men so they get haircuts regularly, too.

Because driving on the roads here is so hairy!

I know,I know, its a bad one, but I couldn't resist it.
