Can an Asian find a job as an English teacher?

usherer

Hi there! I've been doing lots of research, and have found that it's tough for well-qualified Asians to teach English - be it in Japan or Thailand. I've not found info about Burma though.

To put things into context, I'm Singaporean Chinese with a Bachelor's degree, and will be taking the CELTA.

Any tips on how employers in Burma will regard me?

Thanks in advance!

They usually prefer the native English speakers. Schools over there have huge competitions. Better try while you are still in Singapore. Good luck.

In fact I am hunting for for English and Maths teachers for a school in Mandalay.
Please contact me at moelwin999[a]gmail.com if you want to know more.
