what if your boss didn't stick to something you had agreed upon

knowing that the agreement was verbal . would you leave ur job or stay or try to find a solution

and what  would it be that you do ?

One issue with verbal agreements is, most of the time, they are not enforceable.  It comes down to he-said-she-said kinda situation.

If this particular item is significant/important enough for you then you should ask for it in writing - preferably with signatures and witnesses.  Short of having that documentation then I do not know what recourse you have.  Can you go back to your supervisor and have it documented?

Probably only option is to try for solution and be prepared for future course of action if not successful.

If it was verbal, the only future course of action he has is to leave the company.

This happened to me once in the US; I started out at a 'probationary' salary and was supposed to get a large raise after 6 mos. if they were pleased with my work.

Fast forward 6 mos.:  they told me they were happy with my work but the company was not in a position, financially, to give any raises!!!!!!!!

I ended up resigning by the end of the year.

just stay low on the same job same great effort , i know you are a great hard worker . in the same time try to find something better . (But ) do not even try to leave you job and search !!? you dont want to end up up employed . as for chit talks and promises we all i believe had been there . you have to learn from it and keep it going . next time have a paper agreement or so !!
Good luck my friend

Being professional is the key in these matters. Always have a written document in your hands. I think in this case, if it is not negotiable or not at all acceptable, just take it as the learning from the experience and Move on....:)
