Living and teaching in Senegal

Hi you guys,

I'm a 30 year old Swiss English teacher with a four year teaching experience at high school level.
I'm planning to leave Switzerland for Senegal to settle down and work in education. Ideally I'd like to work with social workers and help disadvantaged students or talibés but since I also need to sustain myself and my one and a half year old son this dream might not be realistic or attainable at first. To ensure a financially stable life, though without pretentions, I was thinking about a teaching position in a public school. Thiès or St-Louis are settling places I have in mind.
Do you have some advice to me?

Many thanks to you all

Aurélie

Hello SandraMarty.

Welcome to Expat.com!

In meantime, you can try to post an advert in the jobs in Senegal section. It might help. :)

Thank you,
Aurélie
