My husband has a work Visa and we will be getting visas for the children and myslef.

Has anyone else traveled with 5 and 8 year old children? How safe are family hostels? HomeStays? I am trying to make it exciting and affordable for us to travel around on weekends.

Originally we hoped to be able to stay 4 months at each office: France, Germany, Spain for the 1 year. But we will not be as we would require work visas and additional paperwork from each country which = much more $$$ than we plan on spending.

These countries are [art of the Schengen area. If one of them issue a visa for 1 year, you are able to stay in the other countries as well, but you need to land in the country that issued your visa first.

Make sure to get a Schengen visa and not a national visa.
