Apartments in DQ or Olaya by Tahalia St

Hi All,

I am a new resident in Riyadh and experiencing the same issues as the majority of newcomers, no response from Compounds, waiting lists etc.

My wife is pretty keen to move to the DQ, or a 'Western' neighbourhood, predominately Olaya. She is happy to be off compound provide the area accommodates her needs. Any suggestions?

I've also tried a few compounds, Palm Estate, Al Khuzama and Arabian Homes (who keep asking me to fill out and return the application, which I do, then no response!)but no one ever returns either calls or email.

Also, can anyone fill me in on Al Mostaqbal Homes. From my research they have properties in the DQ.

Any help, advice or pointers would be most welcome,

David

Olaya is a good area specially tahalia and thalateen.
Try expatriates.com you will find a lot of garbage but a few good deals as well.
There are new villas in these areas available for rent

Do you know who operates these available properties?

pkmusd

Individual owners there is no specific one.
Whats your range? Are you looking for a villa outside compound or in a compound

davidgore8

Range from 60 - 120k for a 2 bed apartment.

Looked at Compounds but they are unrealistic with prices for the quality of units avaialable.

Ideally DQ, but we'll be happy in a western orientated area

Dear
Olaya is not at all western by the way unless someone really tells you.
Secondly, you are right compounds have gonr expensive.

Typical western compounds like al hamra, cordoba , arizona are v expensive and mostly western.
M not sure but whu dont you check wadi compound (i think 2 bed there will be 140 or something m not sure)
Or check delta compound near king saud university
Check villarosas.com

Their is ideally no western villa area in riyadh. You will see saudis and if joy other arab nationalties inc asian.
