Have you ever broken up with a GF/BF by way of text message or email?

Whilst smart phones and computers etc make communication easier, do you think this is detrimental to traditional forms of commnication such as face to face etc?

If you are going to break up with someone have the guts to do it in person.

If someone breaks up with you in a text message you need to question your own judgement for being attracted to such a total looser.

I agree with u

I've never done such a terrible, underhand thing.
Mostly because I've hardly broken up with any girlfriends since SMS became available.
I moved house once.

Happened to me in 1997 (by email, while I was on a business trip, after 6.5 years together).

*nod2* I think it's best not to break up in that way~ after all meeting up in person and talking it out would be better for both sides~ =D

I agree with all the comments, however I live in Korea where cellphones play a significant role in peoples lives here and have heard many stories of break ups this way and even people getting fired from their jobs in the same manner. I think it's a disgusting way to communicate these kinds of messages.

Like a previous post said, it's really "gutless".

Hi all,

Can anybody define what love exactly is (not the kind which we have towards our family, friends and acquintances,) as i couldn't experience it yet.... :)

Moon Nguyen

yes,  if you were both in long-distance relationship. So sad!

If you walk down the streets of Hong Kong you will see about 90% of the people staring at their phones while they slam into each other.

I don't think it makes communication easier.  It makes the illusion of communication easier.  You can talk to people all day without actually saying anything or having any kind of meaningful connection.  Text messages take away the subtlety of body language and speech itself.

Ironically, typing rather than speaking is causing people to ignore all rules of spelling and grammar.  I think we'll mostly be illiterate in a generation or two.
